If you have a crooked, unattractive smile, you have probably considered orthodontic treatment. This is a great step toward a top-notch oral health! Dr. Frank Andolino and our orthodontic team understand that you probably have many questions about orthodontics. In fact, those questions may even be making you hesitant about treatment. So to help you, we have provided the answers to commonly asked questions in this blog entry. You may also want to check our FAQ page on our website.
Why should I consider orthodontic treatment?
You should consider orthodontic treatment because it can help you and your smile! It can align your teeth. This can not only boost your self-esteem, but it can also help you prevent dental issues because it eliminates the hard-to-clean areas of your mouth. It can help you properly chew, eat, and talk. It can correctly position your jaw. Lastly, it can give you the smile you have always wanted.
What types of treatments are there?
Fortunately, there are many different types of orthodontic treatment. First, there are traditional metal braces. Second, we have clear aligners, such as Invisalign®. Third, you have ceramic braces, which are similar to traditional braces but they are the color of your teeth. Fourth, you could choose lingual braces (braces on the tongue side of your teeth), which are invisible from the outside. Schedule a complimentary consultation with Dr. Andolino to understand what treatment options are available for you.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment time depends on the severity of your misalignment. If you have minor misalignments in your smile, it won’t take as much time to correct them. If you have major misalignments, your treatment will take longer. Dr. Andolino will address this with you in your complimentary consultation.
